Founder Trustee (Brick-Tie EOT)

Congratulations are in order this month. A new Director joins the board of the company. Our clients know David Gill well, as the go-to surveyor, for structural repairs. He’s also qualified and expert in damp and timber issues, and wall tie corrosion too.

The company already had access to David’s vast technical knowledge and experience, but now he can add his insight to the leadership team. This is great news for all our employees and clients. Like many of the best surveyors Dave started out ‘on the tools’ (decades ago), and this helped build a practical and pragmatic view.  He’s refined his method of dealing with thorny structural repairs, with care and precision. There’s technical skill of course, but in refurbishment and repair, it’s the practicalities, the site specific matters, which often make or break a project.

A no nonsense director

David prefers a no nonsense approach, guiding and advising customers, ensuring they are aware of alternative options. Inevitably, feedback from his professional and residential customers is outstanding. They know he’s on their side too, and not selling solutions which only serve the company.

Those who work under David’s guidance value his attention to detail, David’s keen to improve the welfare of employees undertaking our work. Always recognising it is they who deliver the  repairs he specifies. Looking after them is much more than a statutory obligation. Good supervision, support, the odd coffee or sausage roll, brought to site on a cold and windy day, can really lift a technicians spirits – Dave instinctively understands – he gets it.  There are many reasons why our employees respect and trust him. We’re delighted he accepted this well-earned promotion.

Together with fellow directors, he’s our second employee to rise to the company board.  Together they ensure the efficient operation of the firm –  embodying our founders core values; being a customer, and employee lead company. What a team we have!

Bryan and Julie Hindle remain on the board too, helping Dave in an advisory role. Bryan remains chairman for the time being, with an eye to more employees joining us later. Brick-Tie continue an exciting new chapter in our development, as an employee owned business.
