We currently have a vacancy for the position of:

Surveyor – Damp, Timber and Wall Tie

    £30,000 - 40,000 basic salary (DOE, skills, and qualifications)

Brick-Tie Limited is a well-established specialist in wall tie replacement, structural repairs damp-proofing and timber treatments. Trading since 1986 and with under 20 employees, it has a friendly vibe and is employee-owned via an Employee Ownership trust.

The Role

Once trained, the surveyor will be required to visit up to three properties a day across Yorkshire, (residential and commercial properties). Damp problems, wall tie corrosion, timber infestation/rot, and structural defects are identified, and repair methods quoted for. They submit written reports based on a detailed set of word templates, with bespoke input and TurboCAD drawings.

The Person

This position could suit a graduate surveyor who wishes to specialise in building pathology, from a contractor perspective, identifying defects and repairs solutions. An excellent knowledge of buildings is a must. This could be via a trade skill set, such as an experienced building operative, through experience of building maintenance, with relevant NVQ’s, or via building surveyor training.

Good communication, language skills and I.T. skills are essential.

A friendly and helpful demeanour is key to ensuring our client’s needs are met. We want a candidate who really cares about customers and their colleagues.

Whilst Property Care Association courses and/or CSRT or CSDB/CSTDB are valued, full training will be provided for the right person.

Expectations

Whilst our surveyors are responsible for winning work, this is not a sales position and we never pay sales commissions. Bonuses and pay levels are based on the quality of your work, customer and technician feedback, your commitment to the team and our mutual agreement.
